Math Software

Developed by Ashton Education

This course was originally developed to help adults who were undertaking a business degree at university. I only teach maths that I consider "important" - or useful. What this really means is, I teach maths that you need to know to get through a business maths course. american roulette rules

Personally I spent 6 full years studying at university. My first degree was in engineering, and then I did a graduate diploma in teaching. The reason I tell you this, is because I learnt and taught a lot of maths. BUT, when it came down to it - in real life, and working in jobs, we really don't use that much of the maths that we are taught at school or university - do we. free roulette wheel pictures

So far, the maths that has been developed by Ashton Education, is all important maths. Even though all the lessons on here so far were designed for a business course - all of these lessons are important to EVERYONE, and you should be interested to learn it, as nearly everyone at one time or another in their life will get a loan/s from a bank. payday loans

About the Software

The maths lessons where developed using Macromedia Flash (TM). We developed them in such a way, so that the lessons where randomly generated. Also, all the numbers in each question are randomly generated, so that you can do as many questions as you want.

Videos where done for each lesson. I teach my students maths so that they understand why they are doing it, and where they use it.

For example, do you know where you would use logarithms? In what type of maths questions, and in what sort of real life examples. Many students learn logarithms, and a lot of them struggle with it. In the end, of a course of year they still don't know why they had to learn it. And then they end up hating logarithms. This is just one example.

There is about 5 - 6 hour of videos so far. Each lesson has an average of 15 - 20 min of video. This is typically all that teachers really teach in any class, then they spend the next 30 min to an hour going over and over it.

I wanted to put the videos on this web site, but this is not a practical thing to do. So everyone who becomes a member of the maths-academy, gets the the course sent out to them on CD's which contain the videos on them. Everything else on the CD apart from the videos is included in the members area of this web site.

You can try all the software for free, by clicking on the menus listed at the top of this page.
